Treating yourself will leave you walking on air, and here’s why `

We all know that new shoe feeling. Whether you are buying to spruce up your wardrobe or are in need of some essential walk wear, there’s no denying the satisfaction that comes from adding a new shoebox to your collection.

Confidence

Treating yourself to a new pair of shoes isn’t always in the budget, so when you finally get to spoil yourself, is there any wonder why it feels so good? Keeping your wardrobe up to date is not only a source of happiness for so many but it has also been proven to improve confidence.

Do you find yourself standing taller with a new pair of shoes on? Do you move more boldly? Treating yourself to something occasionally is a form of self-care and can often make the day-to-day grind a little bit easier. So, say goodbye to that financial guilt and make space for treating yourself in your diary. After all, isn’t an improved self-esteem reason enough to indulge?

Even if keeping up with trends isn’t your forte, finding a pair of shoes, a new top or even a pair of jeans that fits you well, may help you create an outfit that you feel confident in.

Self–expression

We are all guilty of putting others first in our day-to-day lives, but, when it comes to fashion, wearing clothes that YOU love is essential. The reason why is simple. The clothes we wear are a physical representation of our personal styles and personalities. Whether or not you worry about making an impression, there’s no denying the feeling you get when an outfit comes together.  There’s no wonder why people spend years crafting the perfect wardrobe, but not to worry, simply picking out a pair of pumps that you love may be just what you need to start feeling empowered and in control.

Do you feel like you are in a fashion rut? That’s a sure sign that you are in need of a shopping trip. Don’t put feeling good on the backburner, find yourself a new favourite outfit, and remember, no clothing combination is complete without a matching pair of shoes.

Nostalgia

When buying shoes, everyone takes quality and price into account. How could you not? But how often do you think about how your purchase will affect you mentally? Look at your wardrobe, do you see a favourite jumper that you wore on that quintessential first date, or the necklace your Grandma bought you for Christmas? Ask yourself how these things make you feel.

Objects may just be objects, but they often hold an emotional connection to a memory, a person or a place. Nostalgia is, after all, the reason why most “favourite” items exist.

While treating loved ones is often second nature, many of us avoid spending money on ourselves when we can, but why? After all, shoes sole purpose isn’t just to keep feet warm. As much as they cushion and support us as we move through life, they also induce a sense of satisfaction, identity and nostalgia. While we urge you to consider your budget, whoever said money can’t buy you happiness certainly never knew the benefits of shoe shopping.
