How To Keep Your Shoes In Top Condition

Are you tired of having to replace your favourite pairs all the time because they just don’t seem to last? Don’t be concerned; you’re not alone. Taking care of your shoes may appear to be a difficult task, but it does not have to be. You can keep your shoes looking like new for years to come with just a few simple tips and tricks. Whether you’re a seasoned shoe enthusiast or a novice, this guide will teach you everything you need to know about maintaining your shoes. So sit back, relax, and prepare to elevate your shoe game to new heights.

  1. Keep your shoes clean:
Wipe down your shoes regularly with a damp cloth to keep them looking fresh. It may be a simple suggestion but it can go a long way and save you some some trouble further down the road.
  2. Use a protective spray:
To keep your shoes in good condition, invest in a waterproofing spray that will protect them from the elements. You can purchase them from most shoe stores and will add a layer of coating to make sure your everyday-wear favourites are always looking their best!
  3. Rotate your shoes:
Don’t wear the same pair of shoes every day. Give your shoes a break and let them air out between wears.
  4. Store shoes properly:
Keep your shoes stored in a cool, dry place to prevent them from getting damaged.
  5. Get a shoe tree:
Use a shoe tree to help maintain the shape of your shoes and prevent creasing. They also help wick any leftover moisture away effectively and help with airing out any odour as shoes can take upto 24 hours to fully dry.
  6. Condition leather shoes:
Leather shoes need to be conditioned to keep them soft and supple. Use a leather conditioner to keep them in good condition. Due to the material, most dirt and stains can be easily removed with a brush. Just make sure to remove the laces when any cleaning is being done to avoid any water or dirt making it’s way into the shoes.
  7. Replace soles if necessary:
If the soles of your shoes are worn out, have them replaced to prevent slipping and to prolong the life of your shoes. There are plenty of shoes on our website that feature removable insoles for you to easily swap when the time comes. You can find some of them here.
  8. Take care of suede shoes:
Suede shoes need a little extra care to keep them looking their best. We recommend using a special care to keep them looking their best. You want to avoid throwing them in the washing machine as they can be washed with a damp cloth and a brush. Just make sure to brush in a straight line to avoid any getting deeper into the fibres. If all else fails, you use a specific suede cleaner also available from certain stores!

Remember, taking good care of your shoes will not only keep them looking good but also extend their lifespan. Happy shoe-caring!
