The November Nest: Your Seasonal Sanctuary
Here at Gabor, we welcome November with open arms, a month made for slowing down, staying in, and surrounding ourselves with warmth. It’s the perfect time to retreat from the crisp air and embrace the comfort of home. November brings with it a certain stillness; the dark evenings, the golden light, and that familiar longing to come in from the cold. This is the moment to create your own November Nest: a space not just for living, but for resting, reflecting, and recharging.
When the world outside feels cold and quiet, let your chosen spot become your sanctuary. The beauty of this ritual lies in how simple it is; you’ll likely already have everything you need at home. It’s a comforting way to spend an evening indoors, turning the everyday into something a little more intentional.
As the season grows busier, we often focus on chores and plans, forgetting to find peace within our own walls. But home should always be our safe haven, the place we can’t wait to return to. Scroll to create your cosy sanctuary at home with Gabor.
1. Pick Your Space
You don’t need much room, just somewhere that feels truly yours. It could be a corner of the living room, your favourite chair, the kitchen table, or even the bathroom after a long day. Think of where you naturally unwind and make that your retreat.
2. Minimise Clutter
A calm space begins with clarity. Clear away papers, trinkets, and distractions. We all gather clutter over time, but your November Nest should feel open, peaceful, and light, a space that instantly soothes when you step into it.
3. Add Greenery
When the days darken, a touch of green brings instant life. Whether you choose a leafy plant or autumn-toned foliage, greenery softens a room and adds a sense of balance. A faux plant can be just as effective, requiring no upkeep while keeping your space feeling fresh.
4. Introduce a Scent
Scent has the power to transport us. Light a candle you’ve been saving or treat yourself to a new seasonal fragrance, perhaps something with notes of amber, spice, or wood smoke. Over time, that scent will become your cue to slow down and unwind.
5. Add Blankets and Cushions
Layering brings comfort and warmth. Gather your softest blankets, your favourite cushions, and even a few in autumnal shades to transform the space. Let it feel cocooning, somewhere you look forward to curling up in at the end of the day.
6. Fill with the Things You Love
Keep a few of your favourite things nearby: a good book, a journal, your go-to snacks, or a warm drink. Step away from digital distractions and permit yourself to enjoy the slower moments that often pass us by.
7. The 20-Minute Rule
Dedicate just twenty minutes daily or weekly to your November Nest. A short pause to breathe, reflect, or simply sit in stillness. These moments of quiet are what carry us through the busier months ahead.
Create your November Nest with Gabor and remember, as the season unfolds, to take time for you.
