Back-to-Work Shoes: The September Styles You’ll Wear on Repeat
Hello, September.
There's something about September that makes getting dressed feel exciting again. As the seasons begin to change, we naturally start reaching for richer colours, lighter layers and shoes that can take us from the office to weekend plans without a second thought.
Whether you're heading back to work, refreshing your everyday wardrobe or simply looking for those key pieces that make getting ready feel effortless, now is the perfect time to rethink your shoe rotation.
The best back-to-work shoes are the ones you'll wear on repeat. Comfortable enough for busy days, timeless enough to outlast seasonal trends, and versatile enough to work with everything already hanging in your wardrobe. From tailored trousers to denim, midi dresses to knitted co-ords, these are the three Gabor styles we'll be relying on this autumn.
The Halo
Every autumn wardrobe starts with a great loafer, and Halo is one you'll come back to season after season. Crafted from glossy patent leather, it brings an instantly polished feel to everyday dressing. The softly ruched detailing across the front adds subtle interest while keeping the overall silhouette classic and understated, exactly what you want from a shoe you'll wear throughout the week.
Comfort is just as considered as style. A leather lining creates a premium finish, while the wearable 2.5cm heel offers just enough lift without compromising on all-day comfort. The easy slip-on design is perfect for busy mornings, and the removable insole gives you the flexibility of a more personalised fit.
Style Halo with tailored trousers and a crisp shirt for the office, or pair it with straight-leg jeans and a lightweight knit at the weekend. It's the kind of shoe that makes every outfit feel a little more put together without ever trying too hard.
The Hamble
If there's one shoe that's proving its staying power this season, it's the tassel loafer.
Once reserved for traditional workwear, loafers have become one of the most versatile styles in any wardrobe, effortlessly bridging smart and casual dressing. Hamble offers a softer take on the classic silhouette, thanks to its beautifully crafted suede upper that brings warmth and texture to autumn outfits. The timeless tassel detail gives the shoe its signature character, while the leather lining and supportive sole ensure it's as practical as it is stylish. Finished with a comfortable 2.5cm heel and a removable insole, Hamble is designed for those days when you're constantly on the move.
Wear them with wide-leg tailoring for a modern office look, style them with a pleated midi skirt, or simply add them to your favourite jeans and knitwear. They're proof that a classic loafer never feels predictable.
The Globe
Not every workwear wardrobe calls for a loafer, and that's where Globe comes in.
As office dress codes continue to embrace smart-casual style, a refined trainer has become just as important as any classic leather loafer. Globe offers the comfort of a trainer with a more elevated finish, making it an easy choice for days when you want to feel polished without feeling too formal. The combination of suede and leather in warm caramel and brown tones gives the trainer a premium look that's perfect for autumn, while subtle leather detailing around the tongue, heel and side panels adds a sophisticated finishing touch.
A soft microfibre lining keeps every step comfortable, while the supportive TR sole is designed for everyday wear. Complete with a removable insole for added flexibility, Globe is the trainer you'll reach for when your day doesn't stop after 5pm.
Pair them with tailored trousers and a fine knit for work, then swap in relaxed denim or drawstring trousers for the weekend. They strike that perfect balance between smart and casual, making them one of the most versatile shoes you'll own this season.
A New Season, A Fresh Rotation
The arrival of September is the perfect excuse to refresh the pieces you wear most. You don't need to reinvent your wardrobe, sometimes introducing a few thoughtfully chosen styles is all it takes to make familiar outfits feel new again.
