Back to Work: Gabor’s guide to life on the go in September
September is here, and with it comes that familiar mix of fresh starts and full calendars. The school run returns, diaries fill quickly, and the reality of routine creeps back in, marked by shiny new shoes, crisp notebooks, and the occasional sigh at the earlier mornings. But there’s something about September that feels like a fresh start, too. It’s almost like a second January, a time to reset, refresh, and ease into new rhythms (without giving up the little moments for us).
Whether it’s commuting, back-to-back meetings, or slipping into the weekend, our collections are made for real life, supporting you through the transitions while helping you feel like yourself. At Gabor, we get it. Life doesn’t stop between 9-5, so your shoes shouldn’t slow you down either. Here are our favourite ways to make the most of your workdays this September, with a little help from Tender, Dayna, Sage, and Elder while keeping time for you firmly on the agenda.
The Commuter Edit: Tender
For early mornings and long days, comfort is everything. The beautiful Tender loafer blends ease with polish, practical enough for dashing across train platforms yet refined enough to step straight into the office.
And look at them! The chocolate suede paired with the gold buckle and crystal gem, you couldn’t ask for a more autumnal loafer. Transitional footwear like this makes the seasonal shift into workdays seamless and oh-so-stylish too. We know what we are getting our hands on this season, and we predict you will too!
Time for you:
Your commute doesn’t have to belong to work. Savour those Tender moments throughout the day and soak up those minutes for yourself, listen to a podcast, read a few chapters (20-30 pages in 20 minutes adds up quickly), or just enjoy the quiet. Small rituals like these turn the rush into a reset.
The Office Classic: Dayna
Some days call for a little more polish. The Dayna court shoe, with its 4.5cm block heel, soft leather, and cushioned sole, adds subtle height and sleekness without losing all-day comfort. Because sometimes we want to keep our colour palette refined, and a black timeless shoe is called upon to do so. With a sleek rectangular trim across its front for that extra sprinkle of sophistication, you will be armed not just with diaries and dates from work, but also dazzling looks of admiration at these workday essentials.
A timeless shoe silhouette for autumn, like The Dayna, is designed to work as hard as you do this September, while keeping with the ease of summer as you slip into them.
Time for you:
Make your workspace yours. A plant or a family photo, little touches that lift your mood and actually boost productivity. And when lunchtime comes? Step outside. A short walk and some fresh air can do wonders.
The Creative Essential: Sage
Who said workwear has to be boring? September is not limited to refined tones, so why not bring colour into your work wardrobe, even if it’s just a little at first? Where else to begin than with these Sage ballet pumps in navy.
Naturally, our colour moves to those autumnal palettes this time of year, we welcome back in our earthy tones or rich shades, but we can also invite in that one pop that made you smile in summer. Start with this navy shade and work your way up to more bold colours, an alternative to black and the perfect first step towards a more colourful autumn.
The Sage ballet pump does it effortlessly: soft suede, a neat bow trim, and the comfort you need to wear them all day.
Time for you:
Breaks are for more than coffee. Put on your headphones and listen to that new album
that came out. Tiny creative rituals are the easiest way to reset your mind
during the workday.
The Weekend Crossover: Elder
Weekday-to-weekend looks need shoes that do both. The Elder is exactly that, perfect for weekdays, but with enough personality to carry you into brunch or weekend city strolls with its grey-toned cheetah print at the forefront. Walk into your work routine with a twist on the average work shoe and a pairing of animal print that easily carries you into the weekend.
With a subtle hint to the weekend and a smart silhouette that can take you through work into your social life, The Elder offers you a win-win situation.
Time for you:
Use your lunch break to text a friend or line up your weekend plans. Having something fun in the diary always makes the week feel lighter.
